Samsung has won the Best in Show award at CTIA Wireless 2008 for its Instinct phone. The phone was introduced by Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse at his keynote address. The phone will be available exclusively from Sprint. Also, winners were chosen in 13 categories for the third annual CTIA Wireless Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards, out of nearly 300 submissions.
The E-Tech awards honor the best products and innovations in a number of categories representing the wireless ecosystem, including mobile consumer electronics, consumer mobile applications, enterprise solutions, network infrastructure, mobile widgets, and 4G. A panel of 31 judges evaluated each entry on innovation, functionality, wow factor, importance of technology, and ease of use and implementation. The Best in Show award was chosen by CTIA attendees via test voting at the event in Las Vegas this week.
“This year's E-Tech award winners represent all facets of the mobile lifestyle—from the enterprise to the consumer,” said Robert Mesirow, CTIA vice president and show director. “We’d like to thank each of the judges for giving their time and expertise to the process of choosing this year’s top entrants. Congratulations to all of the winners.”
