Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced the release of a new surface-mount aluminum capacitor series designed to provide capacitance values up to 680 µF and reliability at high temperatures up to 125° C. The new 140 CRH RoHS-compliant SMD aluminum capacitor is both lead (Pb)-free and solderable under lead (Pb)-free soldering conditions.

A polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid, self-healing electrolyte, the 140 CRH is intended to stabilize output voltages, filter unwanted noise, smooth DC voltage, buffer electrical energy, and decouple superimposed AC ripple current in automotive and industrial systems.

The capacitor’s surface-mount design with a reflow-solderable base plate enables high mounting density. The RoHS-compliant device is charge- and discharge-proof, so there is no peak current limitation. It is rated for capacitance values from 10 µF to 680 µF over a voltage range of 6.3 V to 63 V and is available in sizes ranging from 8 mm by 8 mm by 10 mm to the larger 10 mm by 10 mm by 14 mm design. The 140 CRH capacitor’s broad temperature ratings range from -55° C to +125° C.

Samples and production quantities of the new 140 CRH SMD aluminum capacitors are available now, with lead times of 8 to 12 weeks for larger orders.
