Overclocked RAM Individually Tested To 1250 MHz

Designed for overclocking, the latest member of the Dominator family of DDR2 memories from Corsair is the TWIN2X2048-10000C5DF, which is tested as matched pairs at a guaranteed speed of 1250 MHz. The 2.4-V memories are available in 2-Gbyte kits. The devices are specifically designed for NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI-based media and communications-based motherboards. Each RAM must pass Corsair's aggressive speed-screening process. All Dominator memory modules feature Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP), which were co-developed by NVIDIA and Corsair. This new open standard improves the Serial Presence Detect (SPD), thus simplifying overclocking for beginners and providing unparalleled control for experts.

In order to protect components when overclocking, Corsair developed a unique design, called Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX) technology, which maximizes heat dissipation, even in the most extremely overclocked DDR2 modules. The quad-layer heatsink design provides maximum thermal dissipation. Heat is dissipated through two paths: the leads of the BGA chips into the pc board and the back of the BGA packages into the high-performance extruded aluminum heatsinks. Modules can be cooled further using fans included with each kit. The fans offer direct airflow to the Dominator modules for increased thermal dissipation and active heat transfer away from the module. In benchmark testing, a Dominator heatsink assembly, using DHX technology and the fan, allowed a Corsair module to perform reliably at PC10560 or 1320 MHz at CAS 5 settings.
