Lambda’s ATX Supplies Aim At Computer Applications

Staff  |   ED Online ID #18360  |   February 28, 2008

APEC 2008, Austin, TX - The new ZWX series open-frame ac-dc ATX power supplies target server and industrial computer applications. They deliver the five voltages needed by high-end industrial computers—+3.3, +5, +12, –12, and +5 V (standby)—and are 1U rack or enclosure mountable. The ZWX300 version includes a sixth output (a second +12 V) to support extra drives, memory, fans, and other devices. Power ratings for convection-cooled applications include 90, 120, and 150 W. With 30 cfm forced air cooling, ratings rise to 153, 204, and 255 W. Peak power ratings add from 30 to 40 W to these figures. Standard features include active power-factor correction, logic level On/Off control, 80% and higher efficiencies, over-current and over-voltage protection, remote-sense on the +3.3-V output, and no required minimum loads. The supplies operate from an 85- to 265-V ac input and at temperatures ranging from –10°C to 70°C (with appropriate derating). Depending on the output wattage, the units come in three package sizes ranging from 3.7 by 1.42 by 8.27 in. up to 4.65 by 1.42 by 9.84 in. They comply with UL/CSA/EN60950-1 and EN50178 (OV II), CE Mark, EN55011/EN55022-B, FCC Class B, VCCI-B EMI (conducted and radiated), EN61000-X immunity, and the RoHS regulations. The ZWX-series are available now with prices starting at $125 each in 100 piece quantities.
