An updated version of Rabbit’s Secure Embedded Web Application Kit combines new sample security programs with additional software tools. Designers can use the kit, based on the Rabbit 4000, to easily implement Web and data security into their embedded applications. The kit offers a guide for design engineers who are new to the challenges of embedded security, quickly getting them up-to-speed and developing code for secure Web pages and data exchanges.

The updated version contains an RCM4300 RabbitCore with a 512-Mbyte miniSDTM card, a prototyping board, accessories, and development tools. The company’s Dynamic C integrated development environment that comes with the kit incorporates an editor, compiler, and in-circuit debugger and is enhanced with support for FAT file systems, for easy data storage, and with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)/Transport Security Layer (TLS), and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) security.

The included sample security application programs facilitate the implementation of a solid embedded system that uses the latest SSL/TLS secure-data-transmission technology. For a limited time, the kit comes with the recently published reference book Practical Embedded Security, authored by Tim Stapko.

The Secure Embedded Application Kit costs $349.
