embedded GSM/GPRS cellular module. Approximately the size of a US postage stamp, the GE865-QUAD boasts an extremely compact form factor (22 by 22 by 3 mm), optimized power consumption, and quad-band technology that enable devices to send data transmissions over any global GSM network (see Fig. 1). Supporting RUN AT Command capability and Over-the-Air firmware updates by means of Premium FOTA Management, the GE865-QUAD allows extended, remote control and maintenance of the module without additional software on the application side. The module is also reinforced for use in extended temperature ranges, from –40°C to 85°C.
