802.11 b/g Radio Module Enlists Gainspan SoC

Staff  |   ED Online ID #20938  |   March 31, 2009

Deemed the first RFM RF module to integrate the Gainspan GS1010 SoC, the WSN802G 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g radio transceiver module enables OEMs to build low-power WLAN and sensor monitoring solutions for the global market. Reportedly, the WSN802G exhibits a low power profile enabling longer battery life and easily interfaces to existing 802.11. b/g infrastructure for a wide variety of sensor monitoring and WLAN applications. A full datasheet for the WSN802G can be found at http://www.rfm.com/products/data/wsn802g.pdf.

Product is pathetic. Nothing but waste of time to work with the module. Horrible temperature rf issue

Module is nice but bit costly. There are many modules present in market with much lesser cost. The major issue with the module is very slow on security mode. And there are possible hack for WPA2 security. I am just waiting to open it up.
