Micropower LDO Is Tailored For Power-Sensitive Systems

Ashok Bindra  |   ED Online ID #2559  |   July 22, 2002

Consuming only 18 µA of quiescent current, the MIC5233 and MIC5235 are low-dropout (LDO) regulators capable of supplying 100- and 150-mA output currents, respectively. While the MIC5233 supports an input voltage range of 2.3 to 36 V, the MIC5235 handles 2.3 to 24 V. The LDOs are stable with ceramic or tantalum output capacitors. They offer features like user-programmable power-on reset output, logic enable input, current limit, thermal shutdown, reverse-battery protection, and reverse leakage protection. Besides fixed outputs of 1.8, 2.5, 3.0, 3.3, and 5.0 V, they provide adjustable outputs. Available in the IttyBitty SOT23-5 package, pricing for the MIC5233 and MIC5235 starts at $1.00 in quantities of 1000.
