Dual 100-V Schottky Doubles Current Handling

Don Tuite  |   ED Online ID #8626  |   September 6, 2004

With twice the current-handling ability (60 A) of typical dual-100-V Schottky rectifiers in the TO-220AB form factor, Vishay Intertechnology's MBR60100CT handles secondary rectification, freewheeling, and polarity protection tasks in 100- to 300-W switch-mode supplies. It typically exhibits a 0.64-V forward voltage drop, 8.5-mA leakage, and 20-mA reverse leakage current (max). Each rectifier's forward surge current is rated at 350 A, and peak non-repetitive reverse surge energy per leg is 25 mJ (8/20 µs). Minimum avalanche energy at 40 mH is 20 mJ per leg, and high-voltage dV/dt is 10 kV/µs. The maximum operating junction temperature is 175°C. Samples and production quantities are available now, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders. Pricing in 10,000-unit quantities is $1 per unit.
