The dc-ac inverters in the W10M series from Endicott Research Group accept a wide range of input voltages, from 8 to 24 V, while offering high efficiency, a low profile, and reliable starts for LCDs backlit by one or two cold-cathode compact fluorescent lamps (CCFLs). The inverters deliver outputs of 2 to 12 W, with multiple connector options that allow them to mate with LCDs from any OEM. Operating temperature ranges from –30°C to 85°C. The devices measure 38.1 mm wide by 121 mm long by less than 10 mm high.

The inverters' starting voltage is designed to automatically ramp up—up to 2400 V rms—until the CCFL starts. This feature makes them an excellent solution for powering LCDs used in portable applications, such as medical diagnostic equipment and handheld test and measurement instrumentation, where compact size, high efficiency, cold operating temperatures, and reliability are critical.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The W10M costs $17.70 in production quantities. Typical delivery is four weeks after receipt of an order.
