Richard Nazarian

Richard Nazarian is the president and CEO of Minnetronix, a company founded in 1996 dedicated to the development of diverse medical instruments ranging from cancer treatment systems to heart-lung machines, nerve growth stimulators, and ventricular assist devices. He graduated from Stanford University in 1984 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. He has 21 years of experience in the medical device development field. Prior to cofounding Minnetronix, he led product development efforts for implantable artificial heart electronic systems, cardiopulmonary bypass systems, laser imaging systems, and other medical and industrial devices for the 3M Company. At Minnetronix, he has managed more than 15 medical-device develpment efforts and currently heads a company of more than 90 employees. He is the principal inventor on eight patents ranging from telemetry systems for implantable devices to networked cardiopulmonary bypass systems. He is the principal author of numerous papers ranging from artificial heart control systems to medical device development methods as well.
