Programmable Cube Controls Space Station’s COLBERT Treadmill
NASA has selected the UEIPAC Cube from United Electronic Industries (UEI) to perform an essential role in controlling the COLBERT treadmill in the new space station exercise facility. The programmable automation controller (PAC) hardware is compact and rugged, and makes efficient use of conductive cooling. As a result, the unit ideally suited for space applications.

Virtual Platform At Work On Next-Gen Spacecraft

Bosch To Use Infineon RASIC For Automotive Radar
The new (third-generation Long Range Radar) automotive radar sensor system from Robert Bosch GmbH will use a chip from Infineon Technologies’ (Radar System IC) product family. Bosch developed the LRR3 for adaptive cruise control at ranges up to 250 m. It is also used for predictive radar-based safety functions such as protective brake assist systems, collision warning features, and automatic emergency braking.

Infineon Power ICs Run Seatbelt Pretension System
Autoliv Inc. has selected Infineon as the sole supplier of power semiconductors for Autoliv’s next-generation seatbelt pretension systems, called Active Seatbelts. The system, currently being used in premium cars, uses an electrical motor and electronics to improve occupant safety by starting to tighten the seatbelt a few milliseconds before an imminent crash.
