16-Channel Analog Switches Replace Relays

June 29, 2010
The 230V MAX14805 and MAX14806 16-channel, high-voltage SPST switches feature two banks of eight channels controlled by two logic inputs.

Offering a cost- and space-saving alternative to mechanical relays, the 230V MAX14805 and MAX14806 16-channel, high-voltage SPST switches feature two banks of eight channels controlled by two logic inputs. Employing proprietary HVCMOS technology, the devices combine high-voltage bilateral DMOS switches and low-power CMOS logic. Otherwise similar to the MAX14805, the MAX14806 integrates 40-k? bleed resistors to discharge capacitive loads such as piezoelectric transducers. Other shared features include operation from -160V to 0V and Vp-p from +40V to (Vnn + 220V). Prices start at $20.54 each/1,000. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
