Reporting the lowest saturation voltage in the industry, the 5A FJD5555 bipolar junction transistor specifies a saturation voltage as low as 0.5V and the FJD5553 as low as 0.23V, allegedly 50% lower than comparable devices. Both transistors exhibit a breakdown voltage of 1,050V, making them suitable for lighting applications requiring a wide safe operating area. Available in DPAK packaging measuring 64 mm x 64 mm, they employ lead-free terminals and meet the requirements for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020. Prices for the FJD5555 and FJD5553 are $0.41 and $0.35, each/1,000, respectively. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
