While maintaining high efficiency, the MAX9775 and MAX9776 Class D audio subsystems provide 3D stereo enhancement in applications where speakers must be close together. The MAX9775 integrates five output amplifiers: mono, DirectDrive 80-mW receiver amplifier, stereo, DirectDrive 80-mW headphone amplifier, and a 1.5W Class D stereo 1.5W power amp. The MAX9776 has four output amplifiers: mono, 80-mW receiver amplifier, the stereo, DirectDrive 80-mW headphone amplifier, and a mono Class D amplifier. Both devices exhibit efficiencies greater than 70%. Other shared features include three configurable inputs, volume controls, internal gain, and an I2C-compatible interface for software control. Available in 32-pin, 5 mm x 5 mm TQFNs or 36-bump, 3 mm x 3 mm UCSPs, prices for the MAX9775 and MAX9776 are $1.45, and $1.25 each/10,000, respectively. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA.
