In the decades to come, electronics will continue to surpass itself, with each new generation offering significant advances over the one preceding it. We can look forward to amazing conveniences in our homes, cars that practically drive themselves, a host of miracles in medicine, and highly sophisticated security measures. Shopping for most goods could be accomplished from the living room couch, the exchange of "real" money is likely to become a thing of the past, and the wireless revolution will further infiltrate every aspect of our lives. At the other extremes, military weapons will move up in intelligence from smart to brilliant, while gaming consoles could serve as the hub for controlling broadband services to our homes. These are but a handful of the wondrous advances that electronics technology will bring in the years ahead. You can read all about them in the pages that follow.
