A 16-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) easily multiplexes eight differential or 16 single-ended channels thanks to a settling time that's shorter than the time for a single conversion. The LTC2439-1 joins the same-pinout 24-bit LTC2418, and like it, the new ADC integrates its own oscillator and self-calibration circuitry. It operates from 2.7 to 5.5 V, consuming 200 µA during conversion and 2 µA during shutdown. Available in a 28-pin SSOP package in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges, the LTC2439-1 costs $3.75 each in 1000-piece quantities.
