Tailored to a variety of digital I/O applications, the Model PCIe-DIO-48S 48-channel PCI Express (PCIe) card features a x1 lane PCIe connector and state-of-change detection. The card is suitable for use in applications such as switch closures, TTL, LVTTL, CMOS logic, and controlling external relays and driving indicator lights. Each I/O line is buffered and capable of sourcing 32 mA or sinking 64 mA. Connections to the card are via two 50-pin headers. Each header has three eight-bit I/O ports designated A, B, and C, each of which is programmable as an input or output. Change of state detection and interrupt capabilities relieve software from polling routines that can consume processing time. Each port is programmable for detecting state changes on their lines. Additionally, an interrupt service routine then reads the port to determine which bit changed state and clear the interrupt. In terms of operating system support, the card includes a free DOS, Linux, and Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7 compatible software package that contains sample programs and source code in Visual Basic, Delphi, and Visual C++. Single-unit price for the Model PCIe-DIO-48S is $379. ACCES I/O PRODUCTS INC., San Diego, CA. (800) 326-1649.
