The Barracuda 7200.12 ships as the industry’s highest areal density hard-disk drive for desktop computers. Packing 1 TB of capacity on two disks, the 3.5-inch, 7,200-rpm drive features an areal density of 329 Gb per square inch. Its Serial ATA, 3-Gb/s interface delivers a sustained data rate up to 160 MB/s and a burst speed of 3 Gb/s. Additionally, the Barracuda 7200.12 is available in capacities of 750 GB and 500GB with cache options of 32 MB and 16 MB.
