Tailored for IBC applications, the company unveils what it calls the industry’s first reference design for a 200W, one-sixteenth brick dc/dc isolated power supply, reportedly offering the highest power density and lowest component count of any such supply on the market. The reference design delivers a power density beyond 600W per square inch, allegedly 60% higher than any previous one-sixteenth brick design. Offering a nominal 12 Vdc output, the design operates with 95% efficiency and 40% lower power losses at 270 kHz. Its fixed duty-cycle mode provides a constant input-output voltage relationship to maximize efficiency. An ENABLE pin allows turning the module on/off in supply-sequencing applications. Complete with documentation, schematics, and PCB layouts, price for the design is $200 each. For more details, call VISHAY INTERTECHNOLOGY, INC., Malvern, PA. (619) 336-0860.
