Freescale’s i.MX line now includes the i.MX25 family, which targets a pair of chips for automotive applications and three chips for the industrial space. Common to all is the 400-MHz ARM926E-J-S core plus 128 kbytes of RAM, a DDR2/DDR/SDRAM memory controller, and a NAND/NOR flash controller. Options include 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0 OTG high speed with PHY, a USB 2.0 host, an SVGA LCD controller with touchscreen support, touchpad support, two CAN interfaces, two smart-card interfaces, a three-channel, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), serial audio support, plus a collection of serial interfaces and GPIO. Security support includes a high-assurance boot feature and tamper detection. Pricing for the automotive chips starts at $8.44 and $6.96 for the other versions. Development modules include a CPU module with 512 Mbytes of DDR2 memory and 2 Gbytes of NAND flash and a personality module with a 5.7-in LCD with touchscreen.
