Embedded Systems Conference, San Jose, CA. - Offering a quick and convenient method of inter-PC communication via USB ports, the NMC-2.5m USB-to-USB null modem cable features USB type A plugs at each end, that contain an FT232RQ USB-UART converter IC with supporting components on a small PCB. Data is sent across cross-connected TXD/RXD connections while the RTS / CTS signals provide handshaking and a common ground reference rail links the two converter PCBs. Measuring 2.5m long, the cable supports data rates up to 3 Mb/s. Single-unit price is $35.
