Lauded as the industry’s largest capacity 6U VPX buffer memory board, the MFC700 supports up to 16 GB of DDR2 SDRAM on the baseboard and provides dual XMC mezzanine sites plus support for Serial RapidIO fabric. The board handles up to 32 GB of DDR2 SDRAM memory in a single slot with 4 to 16 GB on the MFC700 and from 2 to 8 GB via two MM-6171 buffer-memory-node XMC modules. It supports four x4 high-speed Serial RapidIO links to the VPX P1 connector by way of an eight-port Serial RapidIO switch and additional I/Os to the backplane. Two Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGAs serve as memory controllers and the MFC700 provides additional RocketIO connections between the FPGAs and the backplane. Operating-system compatibility includes VxWorks and Linux and the board is available in both air and conduction cooled versions. For more information, call VMETRO INC., Houston, TX. (281) 584-0728.
