As more and more electronic design professionals turn to logic nonvolatile memory (NVM), the Logic NVM 2007 conference in Santa Clara, Calif., will examine the critical issues associated with the implementation of this new technology. The June 14 event, which is the semiconductor IP industry’s sole conference dedicated to logic NVM, will bring together top electronics industry business leaders and technical innovators.

Logic NVM is a key technology in bridging the gap between design capability and market demand in areas like power management, small format displays, radio frequency, and digital rights management. While designers are strained to reduce space and power while enhancing performance, logic NVM has aided in extending battery life, reducing size, streamlining development, and quickening time-to-market.

Jack Harding—chairman, president and CEO of eSilicon Corporation—will be the keynote speaker for the second annual event. Harding’s presentation, "Smaller, Faster, Cheaper, Better: The Relentless Pressure on Consumer Electronics," will explore system-chip design trends and techniques like embedding NVM cores, which affect the quality and performance of electronics products.

"Although its importance is just now being recognized, embedded nonvolatile memory is expected to be a key component of the chips at the heart of the next generation of electronic products, helping to bring improved battery life and advanced functionality such as RF and digital rights management," said Jordan Selburn, principal analyst for semiconductor design with market intelligence firm iSuppli Corp. "Logic NVM 2007 is an ideal opportunity for design engineers to learn about real-world NVM applications and proven design methods."

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency, and registration is free if signed up by May 15. Founding sponsor Impinj Inc. is joined by corporate sponsors eMemory, iSuppli, Kilopass Technology, Sidense, and Virage Logic as well as media sponsor Electronic Design.
