The latest member of the CopperFlite central office (CO) chipset family, the CopperFlite LX chipset is said to be the industry’s smallest while significantly reducing power consumption on a per-port basis. The LX chipset is comprised of two chips that together consume less than one square inch per port. Similar to other chipsets in the family, it includes the company’s eXtremeDSL features, such as eXtremeRate and eXtremeReach. The eXtremeRate allows rates up to 12 Mb/s and the eXtremeReach claims to increase potential service areas by more than 50%.
