SMSC has expanded its TrueAuto offering with the USB83340 USB 2.0 transceiver with high-performance electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection and overvoltage protection up to 30 V. It comes in a low-pin-count, 5- by 5-mm quad flat no-lead (QFN) package. The LAN8930 10/100 three-port managed Ethernet switch has a pair of ports with physical layers (PHYs) and one MII interface. It supports a serial management interface. These chips complement SMSC’s MOST chips (see

“The Line Between Telematics And Infotainment Blurs Even Further”

). All are automotive grade.
