The UniGlo fiber-optic panels supply a durable and uniform area of light that's completely free of heat and electromagnetic interference (EMI). They improve backlighting for portable instruments like the underground cable and pipe locator shown in the photo. Rugged operation is evident, as they surpass 40-g shock or peak vibration and a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 15,000 hours. They operate from −40°C to 80°C. The panels are easy to install and readily replaceable in the unlikely event of failure. Pricing starts at $0.50 to $0.70 per square inch in production quantities.
