High-Security Keylock Switches Safeguard Equipment

By Staff

October 08, 2008

The CKM series of high security keylock switches accept tubular keys and feature a push-to-lock mechanism. This mechanism indicates to users when the switch position has been changed. The switches, which are suited for industrial control equipment, computer peripherals, and instrumentation and sensor equipment, also feature a vertically rotating switching mechanism and self-cleaning sliding contacts to ensure that they have a long operating life, smooth operation and guaranteed circuit contact. Incorporating an antistatic insulating material, the CKM series is able to withstand 15 kV of electrostatic discharge. Their dielectric strength rating is 1.5 kV between contacts and case for a minimum of one minute. In addition, the terminals are epoxy sealed to prevent the entry of flux and other contaminants. A 16-mm double flatted bushing ensures that the CKM series fits securely in panel mounts. The operating temperature range is -25ºC to +70ºC; the devices are capable of withstanding 90 to 95% humidity for up to 240 hours. The series is rated 3A at 250 V ac. These switches are available in single pole configuration and both two-position and three-position models. NKK SWITCHES, Scottsdale, AZ. (480) 991-0942.
