Depending on the display, the LEDs in standard combinations of red (623 nm), green (527 nm), and blue (457 nm) cover more than 125% of the NTSC color gamut and are suitable for all directly backlit displays, particularly large LCDs in sizes of 24-in. diagonal and up. Higher brightness is the result of a unique lens designed specifically for backlighting. At an operating current of 100 mA, the LEDs achieve brightness levels of 14 lm (red), 24 lm (green), and 28 mW/sr (blue). Also, the lens provides a wider viewing angle to ensure uniform backlighting.
