Li-Ion Cell Cuts Charging Time

By Staff

October 08, 2008

Reportedly lighter and packing more power than its traditional counterparts, the CGR26650A lithium-ion cell employs nickel-manganese based cathode material to deliver higher discharge rates and better temperature stability than comparative cells. The battery specifies a high recharge-rate capacity, recovering most capacity within 20 minutes. It also relies on the company’s heat resistance layer technology to ensure safer operation. Other features include a discharge capability up to 40A, 2,650-mAH typical capacity, and a wide operating temperature range. Typical applications include portable power tools, medical equipment, memory/storage, back-up power, and uninterruptible power supplies. PANASONIC ELECTRIC WORKS CORP. OF AMERICA, Providence, NJ.
