Low-Cost Common-Mode Chokes Deliver High Performance

Described by the maker as low-profile/-weight, low-leakage, high-impedance, and low-cost components, the company’s latest line of standard common-mode chokes suppress common mode noise generated by switch-mode power supplies and are available with surface-mount and thru hole terminations. Keeping a low profile, the components measure 7 mm in height. The part-number 51670 measures 27 mm x 29 mm x 7 mm and handles up to 20A of dc at 300 kHz with a 60A peak current for 1s. With an inductance of 330 ?H, the component exhibits a power loss of 2.7W. Other components in the line include the 430-µH/20A 53298, 2,650-?H/8A 53929, and the 1,580-µH/10A 53930.
