Groomed for aerospace, electronics, and optic applications where outgassing is a concern, CV-2391 debuts as a low outgassing, room-temperature vulcanizing foam that does not require additional processing to achieve NASA E 595 standards for Total Mass Loss (less than or equal to 1%) and Collected Volatile Condensable Material (less than or equal to 0.1%). It is an open-cell foam that uses non-corrosive blowing agents, cures in place, and is platinum-catalyzed and designed to cure at low temperatures with the option to accelerate the cure by applying heat. CV-2391 can also be cured in place as space fillers, molded into rods, or in some cases, cast into foam sheets for die-cutting gaskets. The soft, compliant quality of CV-2391 provides a reliable seal when used for gaskets. CV-2391 is available in a two-part, hand-mixable kit that yields a soft, white, low-density foam that fully cures in ambient temperature and humidity in 60 minutes.
