With no deterioration in performance, the Strikesorb surge protection device (SPD) modules provide continuous protection from over-voltage and other transient activity for industrial equipment such as variable speed drives, programmable logic controls, and power cabinets. The modules are available in a wide range of voltage and packaging configurations and meet the requirements of IEC 61643-1 and UL 1449 2nd Edition without the use of internal fuses. Their fuse-less design and capability to withstand high short-circuit currents allow direct installation on busbars, precluding the need to install additional fuses or interconnection wires. According to the company, the modules successfully withstand three-cycle testing at available short-circuit currents up to 100 kA and require no additional UL testing. RAYCAP INC., Liberty Lake, WA.
