A high-performance BGA socket for 0.5-mm pitch, 51-pin devices, the SG-BGA-7154 socket accommodates 4 mm x 4 mm x 0.8 mm package sizes and operates at bandwidths up to 10 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. Contact resistance is typically 20 m? per I/O. The socket connects all pins with 10 GHz bandwidth on all connections and mounts to the target PCB with no soldering. The component also employs a quick-insertion method for changing out ICs quickly. Other features include an operating temperature range from -35°C to +100°C, a pin self inductance of 0.15 nH, mutual inductance of 0.025 nH, capacitance to ground of 0.01 pF, and a current handling capacity up to 2A per pin. Single-unit price for the SG-BGA-7154 is $294. IRONWOOD ELECTRONICS, Burnsville, MN. (800) 404-0204.
