Chipset Boosts Ultrasound Image Resolution

The MD1715 and TC8020 ultrasound driver chipset generates a five-level waveform for high-resolution imaging.  In addition to medical apps, the pair is viable for metal flaw detection, nondestructive evaluation, and piezoelectric transducer driving apps. The MD1715 two-channel logic controller integrates 12 low-impedance, high-speed MOSFET gate drivers and two sets of control logic inputs, each set containing three pairs of MOSFET gate drivers. Packing six pairs of N- and P-channel MOSFETs, the TC8020 output stage delivers typical peak currents of ±3.5A at 200V.
