Embarking as the first member of the MaxxDSP family of audio semiconductors, the the MX5000 audio DSP employs the MaxxAudio suite of psycho-acoustic algorithms that compensate for frequency response, dynamics, and imaging limitations common to small loudspeakers used in consumer electronics. The patented and proprietary algorithms are pre-programmed into the device, eliminating the need for any DSP programming or filter design expertise. The device also teams its 24-bit audio DSP with high-performance a/d and d/a converters to provide a complete digital audio subsystem. It operates from a 5V analog power supply and a 1.8V supply for the logic core. In a 40-pin, 6 mm x 6 mm QFN package, volume quantities of the MX5000 will be available in March. WAVES INC., Knoxville, TN. (865) 909-9200.
