Audio Processors Meet Demand For More I/O

By Staff

September 11, 2006

Combining a DSP running CMP technology with digital and analog audio interfaces, the MAP 54/560xM and MAP 44/460xM audio processors eliminate the need for extra components, reduce costs, and make advanced features available for component audio, integrated stereo, and home theater systems. Digital audio sources connect to MAP-M via multiple S/PDIF inputs and outputs. Each input can be routed through the DSP or directly to an S/PDIF output. Signals from other ICs interface via I2S interfaces. Each device integrates PWMs with outputs that can directly drive class-D power amplifier stages. Analog sources from up to six channels can be routed through integrated multiplexers to six a/d converters. A built-in preamplifier allows glueless connection of microphones and phonographs. Additionally, RIAA phono equalization is performed digitally for greater precision. MICRONAS USA INC., Santa Clara, CA. (408) 625-1200.
