Described as an entry-level package, the TrueNTRY X125 debuts as the industry’s first platform for delivering affordable cell phones that feature CD-quality audio. The X125’s analog baseband integrates GSM/GPRS/EDGE handset features and the platform, consisting of system chips, software, and a development kit, integrates features that promise to reduce BOM costs: speaker amplifier, CD quality stereo, polyphonic sound synthesizer, USB 2.0 OTG controller with charging, power-management circuits to support all phone peripherals, battery charging, and a dedicated applications processor separate from the communications engine. Additionally, the platform supports dynamic noise suppression, echo cancellation, full-duplex speakerphone, and a stereo equalizer. Low-end BOM costs are stated at $30. AGERE SYSTEMS, Allentown, PA.
