SPoCs Handle Converging Audio Apps

By Staff

October 08, 2008

The company’s latest speakers-on-chips (SPoCs) address audio applications ranging from converging audio and voice applications such as speakerphone-enabled docking stations to intercom systems, door phones, and unified communications sound systems. The mono CX20662 and stereo CX20663 also integrate with any analog audio system to deliver full-duplex, hands-free speakerphone functionality. Both devices employ a proprietary wideband acoustic echo-cancellation and noise reduction DSP, which enables the capture of a broader range of voice signals. They also feature dual audio codecs, programmable microphone boost, a headphone driver, and a Class D amplifier. Additionally, the SPoCs can operate without an external microcontroller. Prices for the CX20662 in a 40-pin QFN and CX20663 in a 48-pin QFN are $2.50 and $2.91 each/10,000, respectively. CONEXANT SYSTEMS INC., Newport Beach, CA. (888) 855-4562.
