For safely multiplexing USB 2.0 signals at 480 Mb/s, the MAX4983E and MAX4984E DPDT analog switches include ±15 kV of ESD protection as per the human body model. The switches specify a typical on-resistance of 5 Ohms and a 950-MHz bandwidth. Operating from single 2.8V to 5.5V supply voltages, the devices integrate protection against 5.5V shorts to COM1 and COM2. Other features include low-threshold-voltage logic outputs and a shutdown mode that reduces quiescent current to 0.1 mA. Available in 10-pin, 2 mm x 2 mm microDFN and 10-pin, 1.4 mm x 1.8 mm UTQFN packages, prices start at $1.50 each/1,000-up. MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS, Sunnyvale, CA. (800) 998-8800.
