GPL Software May Be Just Ducky

Are you using GPL or other open source software? Are you sure? If not, talk with the people at Black Duck Software. Their protexIP/development is designed to go through your code and runtime libraries to see what kind of licensing is associated with your project. It does this using Black Duck's Code Print technology to match the code with patterns of licensed software. The resulting report can be eye-opening. Companies often utilize a range of third-party support and the resulting software much match the licensing associated with its source. This can be an issue for GPL-based software since source code must be made available. Some software may require delivery of license fees, or a company may or may not want to meet some requirements. This approach allows management to determine what is inside a design. Related Links Black Duck Software
