I2C Cryptomemory Supports Mutual Authentication

Atmel's I2C CryptoMemory chips secure up to 32 kbytes of data in EEPROM partitioned into 16 regions using four sets of 64-bit secret seeds and four sets of 64-bit session keys. The chips support stream encryption, password security, and dynamic mutual authentication. Contactless RF versions are also available.

The chips are available now.

PRICING

Prices for the CryptoMemory start at $0.15 for an eight-lead small-outline IC (SOIC) or plastic dual-inline package (PDIP). The AT88SC-DKI CryptoMemory development kit costs $49.
