USB 2.0 and IPv6 support comes to Microsoft's Windows XP Embedded operating system courtesy of Service Pack 1. The package also features .Net Framework support. The new Remote Boot permits Windows XP Embedded-based devices without persistent storage to boot from a downloaded image. With the Device Update Agent (DUA), in-field software updates are possible. In addition, a new footprint estimator makes image size estimates a snap. The service pack is a free download for registered users.
