The "Digital Lifestyles Home" is the theme for the NextGen Demonstration Home at this year's CES. NextGen is inviting visitors to experience first-hand the converging trends in consumer electronics for the home as leading manufacturers showcase the next generation of products in a real home environment.
Visitors will be able to experience HP Media Center PCs and Digital Entertainment Centers featuring Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition and Intel Viiv technologies, connected to HP HDTV displays and Klipsch speaker systems to integrate various facets of digital entertainment. Each member of a family can individually manage television shows, movies, music, photos and more.
In the NextGen Home, Exceptional Innovation's Life|ware merges home control with digital entertainment, providing complete control of the home's Vantage lighting system, ZON whole house digital audio system, DSC security system, and thermostats and cameras, accessed from any HP Media Center PC, Digital Entertainment Center, or Xbox 360 console, or from Life|touch high-definition touch panels.
Two rooms in the home preview Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system, Intel Viiv technology, HP Digital Entertainment Centers with HD-DVD and other next generation products set for release over the course of the next year.
