The N-0275 series of 275-W switch-mode power supplies from Powerstax plc features digital power management and optional PMBus capability. Sporting a low profile, the supplies deliver 12.22 W per cubic inch with up to 90% efficiency. A microcontroller monitors dc voltage on the bulk capacitor, output voltage, output current, auxiliary 12-V output voltage, transformer temperature, ambient temperature, and fan tachometer.

Also, these devices provide timing accuracies in the 1% range. Stored-charge memory doesn’t affect them. And, they respond to changing conditions 500 times per second with knowledge of the past without being slowed down by the analog memory. An optional I²C interface is available, allowing up to four N-0275 supplies to communicate over the same bus using the PMBus protocol. Other features include active power factor correction, or’ing diodes, active inrush current protection, and remote on/off.
