The MAX15032 step-up converter from Maxim Integrated Products integrates a high-voltage DMOS power switch that enables it to boost output voltage up to 36 V and deliver 600 mW (max). Designed to provide a compact solution for locally generating a low-noise, high-voltage output in low-voltage systems, it employs an internal charge-pump circuit to enable low-voltage operation from 2.7 to 11 V.

This constant-frequency, low-noise device suits applications like avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode, and varactor-diode, as well as set-top-box audio supplies and LCDs. Its current-mode pulse-width modulation (PWM) architecture switches at a constant 500-kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements. A shutdown input allows for low power consumption.

The MAX15032 is available in a 3- by 3-mm, eight-pin thin dual-inline flat (TDFN) package and is fully specified over the –40°C to 125°C automotive range. Prices start at $1.05 in quantities of 1000 and up.
