Millimeter-Wave Converters Allow Network Analysis To 325 GHz

By Staff

October 08, 2008

Addressing the escalation of RF components operating at extremely high frequencies and the demand for test equipment in the millimeter-wave range, the company’s latest single-source millimeter-wave converters cover frequency ranges from 50 GHz to 75 GHz and 220 GHz to 325 GHz. The converters connect directly to the ZVA series analyzers with no extra hardware requirements, enabling multiport measurements up to 325 GHz, allegedly for the first time. The converters also specify dynamic ranges in excess of 90 dB at 75 GHz and 60 dB (typically 80 dB) at 325 GHz. According to the company, this level of performance also allows for the analysis of high-blocking filters. Additionally, output power is adjustable, which facilitates tests on amplifiers in the development stage. All converters in the series integrate into the network analyzer firmware; therefore they operate as if they were part of the base unit. ROHDE & SCHWARZ INC., Columbia, MD. (410) 910-7800.
