Groomed for the company's AWG5000/7000 arbitrary waveform generators (ARBs), RFXpress embarks as an advanced software package that performs RF/IF/IQ waveform creation and editing of digitally modulated signals. The application provides a more intuitive user interface that eases the creation and management of general-purpose digital RF waveforms, and specialized UWB-WiMedia plug-ins and a library of waveforms. Overall, it takes the tedium out of setup and eliminates the need for multiple instruments by automating many of the repetitive functions. RFXpress supports a variety of modulation schemes, i.e., QPSK, QAM, GMSK, etc., and also allows users to build their own modulation schemes. Additionally, the software allows adding impairments, interference, and distortions to captured RF/IF and IQ signals for modification. The software is available now and runs as part of the AWG5000 or AWG7000, or as a standalone PC application. Price for general-purpose RFXpress is $5,000. The UWB WiMedia compliance plug-in is $2,200 and the UWB WiMedia custom plug-in is $5,000. TEKTRONIX INC., Beaverton, OR. (800) 426-2200.
