The 7000 Series Vector Analyzer Generator (VAG), a complete RF parametric test system for testing wireless components and subsystems, features an intuitive touch-screen user interface and a modular, software-defined functionality that promises to be a flexible, future-proof platform for advanced wireless technologies including LTE, GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G/HSPA, and WLAN. Two signal generators can team up for intermodulation and other key tests. The platform also supports two independent signal generators, allowing its use for receiver sensitivity and blocking measurements, MIMO simulation, and intermodulation testing. The instrument specifies an operating frequency range of 1 MHz to 6 GHz with a 90-MHz bandwidth for both generation and analysis. Both the internal signal generator and the optional second generator specify a typical phase noise of 115 dBc/Hz at a 20-kHz offset from a 2-GHz carrier. Other features include a library of standard waveforms emulating all popular cellular wireless standards as well as a 2-GB arbitrary waveform generator with an intuitive waveform-generation package. For more information, call AEROFLEX INC., Plainview, NY. (800) 835-2352.
