Jay Weitzen, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass-Lowell), received his BS, MS, and PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As part of his work at UMass-Lowell, he is introducing hands-on learning within the ECE program. The goals of the program for second semester ECE students are to excite the students about ECE through hands on activities, to equalize out the gaps between students who have hands on experience and those who do not, and to stress problem solving, programming, and analytical skills required for success in the ECE curriculum.
